Royal Marsden's Ever After Garden
A record breaking year with GiveStar!
6 contactless devices
A Garden of Remembrance
From 1st to 23rd December, London’s Grosvenor Square was illuminated with thousands of white roses. Visitors were able to dedicate their own illuminated rose to a loved one online or in person at the garden, in return for a donation to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
With the help of six mounted contactless devices, the amazing staff and volunteers (working stoically through the freezing December afternoons and evenings) were able to collect over £89,000 worth of donations at the garden. Not only did they beat their 2019 total by over five thousand pounds, but their efforts helped light up the entirety of Grosvenor Square in Mayfair.
But that's not the end of the good news! Each of the contactless devices gives the donor the option of covering the GiveStar platform fee. It's really simple, just a "yes or no" option with the value clearly displayed on the screen.
We saw that 82% of donors voluntarily covered the platform fee. That's a whole lot more money going straight into supporting the fantastic work of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
If you want to explore options for your next event, don't hesitate!
"Using the GiveStar donation technology was a huge success at the Ever After Garden. Visitors were able to donate quickly and efficiently, which means more people were able to dedicate a rose in memory of a loved one."
