Requesting a refund for your donation

All donations made to charities through the GiveStar platform go directly to the charity concerned, and there GiveStar are unable to process a refund request without the charity’s written authorisation.

Donations are settled to a charity on a monthly basis, and once the donations have been paid to the charity, a refund can incur additional charges for the charity, so it is their decision if they wish us to process the refund, or wish to carry out the request themselves.

To initiate a refund request please get in touch with the charity you donated to and explain that you'd like a refund.  If they are happy for the donation to be refunded, they will need to contact us HERE!

On receipt of their approval to proceed, we will refund the donation to the card that it was made on, and you should receive the funds back into the account used within 5 - 10 working days. 

Please be aware that we can only refund donations made via Debit/Credit card, or Google/Apple pay*, and only to the card/ account from which the donation originated. We also cannot refund donations made over 6 months ago, these will need to be refunded by the charity directly.
